Despite heavy and growing criticism from outsiders, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) employees couldn’t be happier with their working situation.
That’s according to employer reviews website Glassdoor, which placed the social media behemoth top its annual Best Places To Work rankings this year. Business Insider has more details:
It’s official — Facebook is the best place to work in the US.
Glassdoor just came out with it’s annual ranking, and employees say they love the tech giant’s mission, culture, perks, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
To see what the big deal is all about, Business Insider spoke with two Facebook employees, product design engineering director Caitlin Kalinowski and prototyping engineer Spencer Burns.
The two employees noted that there’s no “typical” day at Facebook, with activities and tasks spread out among different locations and products. Facebook is actually involved in quite a bit of different products and services outside of its core social offerings, and many employees work to synthesize those various units and ventures.
They also said their office environment is very friendly and open, encouraging collaboration. CEO Mark Zuckerberg makes an effort to get to know his employees, a rarity among most large companies.
The perks also can’t be beat. We’re talking free meals, on-site health check-ups, dental care, barber and salon services, laundry services, and much more.
Facebook Inc shares rose $0.64 (+0.36%) in premarket trading Thursday. Year-to-date, FB has gained 53.03%, versus a 19.44% rise in the benchmark S&P 500 index during the same period.
