Travelers (TRV) came out with quarterly earnings of $2.83 per share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $2.76 per share. This compares to earnings of $2.46 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

This quarterly report represents an earnings surprise of 2.54%. A quarter ago, it was expected that this insurer would post earnings of $1.98 per share when it actually produced earnings of $2.13, delivering a surprise of 7.58%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates three times.

Travelers, which belongs to the Zacks Insurance – Property and Casualty industry, posted revenues of $7.62 billion for the quarter ended March 2019, surpassing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 0.47%.
