Municipal Bonds ETFs Stocks

Most of these ETFs invest in municipal bonds issued by state and local governments in the United States. Municipal bonds are usually issued when governments require funding for certain civic projects. For example, they are commonly issued for building hospitals, airports, and highways. Yields on bonds can vary widely based on several different factors, including the creditworthiness and outstanding debt of the bond issuer, along with the riskiness of the project, among other factors. Similar to our stance on long term bonds, we are a bit more cautious to where bond values may go from here, so investing in municipal bonds may carry much more risk than many have been used to. We therefore view this industry as better suited for moderate investors who understand there is growing risk that interest rates may be on the rise at some point.
