Scott mentioned in Q2CC that they were making changes on the fly and in the time before they even got the first wafer off the tool, (1.5 months) they made 3 changes that effected performance in a big way.
He said that each run would take 6 to 9 months without mstcad. They did 3 alterations on mst Cad in under 1.5 months. That would have normally taken them 18 to 27 months!! This is like 1200% to 1800% decrease in R&D time.
ANOTHER THING. A product like this, that is predictable, stable and can be simulated is BIG for the industry. It's an alternative, more effective semi material that is now available for customers to run on a Sim! How cool is that! I anticipate that in the coming years that MST will be widely adopted in newer fabs going forward, especially since MST has been tested at 2x the performance as carbon for doping.
We should see a flood of new customers entering phase 4 in the next 6 to 9 months.
