$COIN $SI The Ease & Utility of Coinbase $COIN was obvious, Its valuation was not easy to justify when many people still call it "Coinbank." When its valuation challenged $100 billion on day-1 that was more than either the $ICE or $CME and you could pick either of those and add in the value of $NDAQ combined at the same value. Now Coinbase is valued at "only" $57 billion with a $305 price. I have no clue if that $250 reference price is likely to be challenged or not. What I do know is that the $COIN debut pulled down Silvergate Capital $SI and after reading about the interrelations it either shouldn't have pulled Silvergate that much lower OR the speculative market weakness took it down too much. I bought $SI shares Wednesday morning for $117-ish and will buy more than my 1/4-1/3 entrance if it weakens (I expected $10 downside at the start of my nibbling) but at $3.1 billion market cap I can live with that all day so long as I (very apologetically) ignore P/E P/S ratios.

Going through old shit to see what to shred. Saved the $CME announcement when I bought my first seat. $530k for an IMM now B-2. They leased for $4000/mo. My loan payment was $4400/mo and I had five yrs to pay it off. Put 50% down in cash. Even today, if you trade some futures its better on commish to lease or buy. I think if you trade E-Mini's, owning an IOM at 25k is a good deal.
