TD Bank Group gets regulatory approval for $1.3B acquisition of Wall Street investment bankTD Bank Group, the parent company of Cherry Hill-based TD Bank, said it has received regulatory approval to complete its planned $1.3 billion acquisition of New York investment bank Cowen Inc. Toronto-based TD Bank Group (NYSE: TD) said it expects to close the deal on March 1, subject to the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions. The all-cash deal, announced in August, is valued at $39 for each share of Cowen (NASDAQ: COWN) common stock. The purchase price is 1.7 times the multiple of Cowen’s tangible book value as of March 31, 2022 and a 10% premium on Cowen's closing price of $35.49 the day before the deal was announced. |
