$LXXGF - Mobidiag’s $HOLX system is very similar to GenMark’s $GNMK ePlex system. Both allow for multiplex detection. Mobidiag was recently purchased by Hologic for $795M, and Roche recently bought GenMark for $1.8B. In human clinical diagnostics, Lex will be competing against these companies. Neither of these companies are targeting veterinary diagnostics or biopharmaceutical manufacturing to my knowledge. Also, these technologies are not open-access. It is impossible for the end user to create a custom test using NovoDiag or ePlex. Open access is the biggest distinguishing feature between LexaGene’ MiQLab and their technologies. FYI, both NovoDiag and ePlex use a last stage hybridization event for detection. This is not a ‘gold standard’ approach and does not provide much quantitative information (instead they are more qualitative). LexaGene instead using qPCR, which is considered a gold standard
