$NXPI 3) As reported in Business Insider, Smart industrial automation
"Amongst other key areas, Biden's anticipated infrastructure bill targets advanced manufacturing and energy efficiency," Arya said. "Both of these focal areas encapsulate a broader growth theme called Industry 4.0 (or the 4th Industrial revolution) that many diversified semi vendors are actively pursuing today."
4) Clean energy/EVs
"In order to promote the advancement of its climate change agenda, the Biden administration will look to increase the adoption of electrics vehicles (EVs)," Arya said. "Several different methods to target this have been proposed including the extension of tax credit, a return of the "cash for clunkers" program (i.e. incentivizing the replacement of older energy inefficient vehicles) and greater investment in charging infrastructure."
Increase funding for industrial automation and clean-energy/EV deployments could benefit leading industrial and automotive/EV vendors such as $NXPI.
$NXPI Sold all my shares, apparently PFMs got their shares from institutional investors and HFs, I came up the 35M shares number and by the market close, all of sudden daily volume increased more than 30M, and by now about 45M more shares than a regular day exchanged hands, for a total of 53M shares traded. It may go up or go down next week but I believe majority of the indexers have got their shares.northface, published March 19, 2021
US govt looking to fund a batch of incentives & subsidies designed to spur domestic semiconductor manufacturing and research.
Congress authorized a series of programs & incentives for US-based chip companies earlier this year. Lawmakers included the programs designed to bolster US manufacturing, research, & development in the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal 2021, which became law in January, but didn’t provide funding for those initiatives.
JPM chip analyst believes that funding for those programs may be included in President Biden‘s infrastructure bill - ests the incentives & subsidies could total b/n $35B-$37B, with about $18B-$20B for domestic chip manufacturing & $15B-$17B for chip research & development.
Based on the current language in the National Defense Authorize Act, JPM expects integrated device manufacturers based in the US will likely be prioritized.
