$RDS.A Royal Dutch Shell and Port of Rotterdam: Is hydrogen about to break through?Storm300018, published June 4, 2020
A transshipment point for hydrogen is being created in Rotterdam. If the port of Rotterdam uses hydrogen, that means something. After all, it is one of the largest seaports in the world and the largest deep water port in Europe. The port now sees a bright future for hydrogen and is therefore building a hydrogen infrastructure.
"Hydrogen is the energy of the 21st century," the industry magazine "Inland Navigation" quotes port manager Allard Castelein. Work is now underway in the Dutch port on a pipeline to connect producers and customers with hydrogen.
Apparently the energy giant Royal Dutch Shell also sees great potential in hydrogen and will be the first user of the new pipeline according to "Inland navigation". The company also plans to put its own ecological hydrogen production facility into operation in 2023.
