Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO; NYSE: MFGP) today announced it has partnered globally with Citadel, to expand its Content Management product line to now provide Content Manager Select Software as a Service, an innovative managed service solution. The new service provides customers a one-stop cloud-based managed solution for content management that combines the strengths of Citadel's longstanding Citadel-IXTM market presence for managed SaaS solutions and Micro Focus' longstanding market and technical expertise with Content Manager. IT firm Micro Focus International Plc on Monday said it would appeal a Texas jury verdict asking it to pay $172.5 million in damages to Wapp group in a patent litigation. In 2018, Wapp brought up the case against UK-based Micro Focus, on infringing claims of three patents in connection with Micro Focus' manufacture and sale of certain products in the ADM product line. "Micro Focus has received comprehensive and clear advice from its external counsel that it has a very strong case to appeal both the infringement verdict and the amount of the damages," the company said, adding that judge has discretion to increase the total damages awarded.

The tech stock's gain comes after an announcement that Micro Focus will collaborate with Amazon's (NASDAQ: AMZN) cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services (AWS). In a blog post today, Micro Focus said this agreement "formalizes a strategic collaboration to accelerate the modernization of mainframe applications and workloads of large public and private enterprises to the AWS Cloud." The two companies will deploy Micro Focus technology so that customers can modernize mainframe applications and workloads on an "agile, cloud-based production environment."
IT firm Micro Focus International said on Wednesday it had joined hands with Amazon.com Inc's cloud computing division to help customers migrate their mainframe applications and workloads to the platform. As part of the collaboration, Micro Focus has issued warrants to Amazon.com to subscribe for up to 15.9 million ordinary shares in the company at 446.6 pence per share. Micro Focus' deal with Amazon Web Services comes soon after it re-instated its dividend, while making "solid progress" in the first year of its three-year turnaround plan.
