12 Best Stocks with 12%+ Dividend Yield

NYSE: NLY | Annaly Capital Management Inc News, Ratings, and Charts

NLY – The bull rally may still be in charge, but now is still the right time for income stocks…especially those with such an attractive combination of momentum and extraordinary dividend yields.

The S&P is up 21% this year…Hooray!

Stocks once again made all-time highs…Hooray!

Don’t forget to having some income stocks in your portfolio…Say What?

Yes, I know that last one might be a little bit of a head scratcher. Because if things are looking so bullish then its not so obvious why to own income stocks that are usually a bit more conservative (aka boring).

The reason is simple. We are in year 10 of the longest bull market in history. The easy money has been made. And that expression goes for this year as well since stocks came a long way back from the unnecessary and overdone Q4 correction. Now we will settle into a more traditional 5-10% annual gain pace.

Looking at the investment landscape as objectively as possible we have to realize that earnings growth is not so robust. So growth is not propelling the market forward. The key ingredient is that bond rates are so ridiculously low that it makes stocks all the more attractive by comparison…and income stocks look best of all.

My income stock search today started with POWR Ratings of A and B.  These are the Buy rated stocks from our system that seeks stocks experiencing the best momentum.

Once that group was assembled I looked for those producing the highest dividend yield. In all 12 stocks emerged that each had dividend yields above 12%. That income level is 6X above that of the 10 year Treasury bond which should have great appeal to even the most aggressive investors.

You will find all 12 stocks below. I recommend clicking on the ticker link for each to research it further. That’s because the POWR Rating is actually a composite of 4 underlying scores including: Buy and Hold Grade, Trade Grade, Industry Rank, Peer Grade. So it makes sense to dig in to appreciate the entirety of the rating for the stock to find those that are truly most attractive.
